The Content Management Specialty encourages qualified partners to leverage a wealth of dedicated resources that facilitate all aspects of software development and implementation.
With the Content Management Specialty, you can expand the market presence of your solutions to reach our joint customers—whether they are targeted to vertical specialties or offered as horizontal solutions. The Content Management Specialty is open to independent software vendors (ISVs), equipment providers, commercial service providers, and system integrators focused on creating commercial products and hosted services that extend, enhance, complement, or embed EMC's powerful content management platform and result in out-of-the-box licensed solutions sold to customers.
Joining the specialty
The Content Management Specialty is specifically designed for partners interested in:
- Building and marketing integrations between their software products and the EMC Documentum content management platform.
- Developing and selling complete applications that leverage the EMC Documentum content management technology.
- Embedding EMC content management components into their own products or solutions through original equipment manufacturer (OEM) agreements.
- Leveraging hosted offerings including subscription-based services and application service provider (ASP) or business service provider (BSP) solutions built upon the EMC Documentum content management platform.
Benefits to program participants may include development and nonproduction licenses, technical support, access to training, application interoperability testing, and application accreditation. Partners can market their offerings and capabilities and participate in a wide range of joint marketing activities.
Working closely with our business development team, partners determine the optimal go-to-market strategy that may include coselling with our sales teams or leveraging several of our reselling or referral business models offered under this specialty. ISVs may resell application-specific licenses or embed EMC Documentum content management technology in their own offerings to deliver a complete, fully integrated solution to their customers.
Application Developer Program and "Designed for EMC"
The Application Developer Program is an integral part of our Content Management Specialty, providing a complementary set of benefits to help partners target, design, develop, and promote offerings on the EMC Documentum content management platform. Partners participating in the Application Developer Program have access to prerelease software, our application architects, FirstLook release analysis articles, and design workshops. They are eligible for programs in which partners participate in the product development process for selected platform products.
The "Designed for EMC" accreditation provides customers with the assurance that the application they are integrating into their infrastructures has been accredited by EMC and meets comprehensive criteria for good design, development, and implementation. Partner business solutions undergo scrutiny across several categories and, upon successful completion, receive “Designed for EMC” accreditation. Increasingly, EMC customers are insisting on the "Designed for EMC" designation to ensure compatibility and reliability.
Key benefits
The Content Management Specialty offers a four-tiered model which includes Associate, Advantage, Premier, and Signature. These tiers reflect the degree of integration or association with the EMC Documentum content management platform as well as the effectiveness the partner has in influencing, coselling, or reselling EMC products. Partner organizations advance to higher partner tiers by accumulating program points.
